Arune (pronounced A-roon) is owned and loved by Linda Chalifoux & family of Red Deer, Alberta. Today I received a phone call from Arune's owner Linda informing me that he was sent to Rainbow Bridge on January 23, 2009, due to bone cancer. A few years ago Arune had injured his hind leg and a plate was put in. His vet believes that the bone cancer developed from the plate that was put in and due to the fact that Boxers are prone to cancer. Amputation was considered but due to the location of the injury (up very high) and since the cancer had metastised, the Chalifoux's decided to let him live whatever time he had left with the use of pain medication until it no longer worked. Arune will be sadly missed by his best buddy, George Chalifoux, whom he spent all his time with as George has been retired for more than four years, Linda and family. He was truly an ambassador for this breed. God speed beautiful, sweet boy. You will be sorely missed. Thank you to Linda, George and family for giving Arune such a loving and wonderful home!
